Organism of the Day
A Regular Mountain Lake Natural History Essay Series
The "Organism of the Day" natural history display appears Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays in the Lewis Hall entrance foyer during the summer months. Residents and station visitors enjoy new organisms each day. The tradition was started by then Station Director Henry Wilbur in the 1990s, and in 2010 Wilbur passed the responsibility for Organism of the Day to life-long station resident Hazel Galloway. She completed these essays with assistance from Jesse Galloway, Eliza Brodie, and Fisher Brodie. Henry Wilbur and Mary Jane Epps have helped immensely with the organisms which fall into their own fields of expertise.
